Yucca filamentosa is an evergreen shrub. It is commonly known as Adam’s Needle, Common Yucca, Needle Palm, Carolina Silk Grass, Our Lord’s Candle, Spanish Bayonet, Spoon-Leaf Yucca, Bear-Grass, or Needle-Palm Silk. It belongs to the Asparagaceae family of plants. It is native to Southeastern USA.
Yucca filamentosa flowers with upright spikes with panicles of creamy white flowers. The flowers are bell-shaped. It flowers in mid to late summer. Remove spent flowering stems, after flowering is done. Yucca filamentosa leaves are sword-shaped. The leaeves form a clump about 3ft or 90cm tall.
