Gentianaceae

Gentianaceae or the Gentian Family of plants is named after the genus Gentiana. Gentianaceae has about 102 genera and 1,750 species. It is from the order of Gentianales. Members are trees, shrubs, and herbs. They are usually from the northern hemisphere, temperate, tropical, and subtropical locations. Probably the truest blue flowers are members of the Gentianaceae family.

Members of the Gentianaceae family have opposite leaves. they don’t have a leafstalk. The flower usually has four or five divided petals. The fruits are usually capsules. The species of Gentianaceae are usually found in meadows and woods.
