Pink Anigozanthos

Pink Anigozanthos or Kangaroo’s Paw is a unique, exotic flower in a rather unique color. The most commonly seen color is yellow or deep red. It is native to Australia, a tufted evergreen, a rhizomatous perennial. They are more colorful in lower temperatures. This is because they react to their environment.

Kangaroo’s Paw has a long flowering season from late spring to late fall, especially if you cut the dead flowers.  The foliage which is at the base is evergreen and it has arching upright leaves. The tall species can be as high as 6ft or 2m.  Dwarf versions are more short-lived. It is a very striking yet unusual plant in the landscape.

About Dino

Dino
I am a flower enthusiast and a gardener at heart. Ever since childhood I loved reading about plants and started gardening at an early age. First by helping my father in the garden and later managing a large garden myself in my teen years. I planted and cared for a large number of plants, flowers, and trees both outdoors and in a greenhouse. To this day I enjoy visiting gardens and parks and learning about new and old specimens and varieties of plants.
