Tagetes (Marigold) is a summer annual, robust adding bright color to any garden or potted arrangements. It is easy to grow and there is a range of varieties from 6″ to 4′ tall. Flowers range in color from light yellow through gold and orange and some maroon. They bloom from early summer to late in the season. They are also easy to grow from seed or buy from a local nursery. They love the sun and water plenty. Varieties include the popular Tagetes Erecta, also known as American Marigold, Tagetes Filifolia (Irish Marigold), Tagetes Patula (French Marigold).
I am a flower enthusiast and a gardener at heart. Ever since childhood I loved reading about plants and started gardening at an early age. First by helping my father in the garden and later managing a large garden myself in my teen years.
