Phlomis russeliana

Phlomis russeliana or Turkish Sage is from the Lamiaceae family of plants. It is also known as Phlomis samia or Phlomis viscosa. It is a deciduous perennial. It is clump-forming. Phlomis russeliana grows to 90cm or 3ft. It has large, ovate leaves. The leaves are greyish-green and rough-textured. It is native to Southwest Asia.

The flowers grow in whorls around the stem. They are yellow. Phlomis russeliana grows well in full sun or partial shade. Plant it in fertile and well-drained soil. Propagate by seed or by division in spring. It is disease-free. Watch out for leafhoppers.
