Loropetalum chinense is also known as Chinese Fringe Flower and Strap Flower. It is an average growing shrub. It is native to China and Japan and Burma. It is part of the Hamamelidaceae family of plants.
Loropetalum chinense flowers in winter and spring in particular from February to April. Loropetalum Chinese flowers are pink, the leaves also do change color, starting from bronze to green and then burgundy again. The leaves are ovate and alternatively arranged.

Grow Loropetalum chinense in sun or partial shade. Plant it in moist and fertile, acidic soil that is well-drained. It is frost-hardy to-15ºC or 5ºF. Protect it from cold winds. Requires little pruning only to shape it after flowering. Propagate Loropetalum chinense from semi-ripe cuttings in the summer. It is generally disease-free and pest-free. Loropetalum chinense or 檵木; pinyin is used in Chinese medicine.
