Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Touran Large White’

Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Touran Large White’ is a hybrid Saxifraga, from Touran Series. They also call it Saxifraga Touran White Improved, Saxz0004, Mossy Saxifrage ‘Touran Large White’ or simply Saxifraga Touran White.

Touran Series are low growing and mound-forming evergreen perennials. Saxifraga x arendsii has a parentage between S. exarata, S. moschata, S. rosacea and S. hymnodies. These original species are native to the north all the way up to to the Arctic Circle. It is part of the Saxifragaceae family of plants and it is a perennial.

Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Touran Large White’ is a fast grower. It flowers in late spring into summer, usually from May to August. The flowers are white, cup-shaped and foliage bright green and oval. It grows to about 15cm or 6in tall.

How to grow Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Touran Large White’:

Grow Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Touran Large White’ in the sun or partial shade. In a hot climate provide shade in the afternoon. Plant it in rich, moist but well-drained soil. It prefers alkaline to neutral soil.

Trim back after flowering is done. Avoid winter wetness. It is generally disease-free, but watch out for aphids, red spider mite, slugs, and vine weevil. Propagate by division
