Heliotropium arborescens ‘Marine’ is a bushy evergreen shrub native to Peru. It belongs to the Boraginaceae family, it is perennial and very fragrant. Heliotropium arborescens ‘Marine’ grows to about 35 cm tall. The seeds are poisonous but the plant is also toxic to animals. Heliotropium arborescens has fragrant deep purple clusters of flowers with foliage that has burgundy hints. It flowers in the summer. Plant it in the sun or partial shade in sandy loam well-drained soil. Propagate Heliotropium arborescens ‘Marine’ from seed or cuttings.
