Persicaria orientalis

Persicaria orientalis belongs to the Polygonaceae family of plants and it is a self-seeding annual. It is known by many names: Polygonum orientalis, Princess Feather or Prince’s Feather, Kiss-me-over-the-garden-gate, Oriental Persicaria, Persicaria orientale and Oriental Persicary. It is native to Asia and Australia.

It grows well in full sun or partial shade and does well in moist, well-drained soil. Persicaria orientalis do not require much fertilizer. In another word, it is easy to care. It can grow to 4 to 7 ft. and produces beautiful spikes of pinkish-red flowers from late spring to autumn. You can propagate from seeds but remember they are self-seeding.
