Hyacinthoides hispanica

Hyacinthoides hispanica is part of the Asparagaceae family of plants. It is a bulbous perennial and is native to the Iberian peninsula, Southern Spain and Northwestern Africa.

They also call it the Large Bluebell, Spanish Bluebell, or Spanish Squill. It is different than the Common Bluebell as it has paler and larger flowers. Plus it has very little or no scent.

Hyacinthoides hispanica grow to about 40cm or 16in tall. It has strap-shaped leaves that grow in clumps. The leaves are green and glossy, and the flowers are bell-shaped and blue.
