Pentas lanceolata is part of the Rubiaceae family of plants. Pentas lanceolata is sometimes called Pentas for short or Egyptian Starcluster, Egyptian Star, Star Cluster, Pentas carnea. It is native to Africa and Yemen. It is a woody-based perennial. Pentas lanceolata grows to about 3ft or 90cm but it could be larger in its native habitat.

The flowers are about 4in or 10cm clusters. They are star-shaped and pink. The colors range from pink to red, purple, or white. Pentas lanceolata flowers all year in temperate climates. Otherwise, they sometimes treat it as an annual and flowers in the summer. It attracts butterflies.
