Exacum affine

Exacum affine is also known as Persian Violet, Arabian Violet, or German Violet. It is part of the Gentianaceae family of plants. It is native to Yemen. Exacum affine is a biennial but sometimes treated as an annual. It has ovate dark green leaves. Exacum affine can grow to 30cm or 1ft. It flowers in the summer with fragrant, 5-petaled, pink, white, or purple flowers with a bright yellow center. It is an excellent outdoor plant in the ground and in containers and hanging baskets.

Plant Exacum affine in moist and fertile soil that is well-drained in full sun. Propagate from seed in spring. You can prune back after flowers are done andduring flowering season remove faded flowers. It is pest-free and disease-free therefore easy to maintain.
