They are erect annuals reaching a height of about 150cm. The leaves are palmately compound. The flowers are bright pink. Cleome hassleriana flowers in the summer. It is a self-seeding deciduous annual that thrives in the sun. It is drought-resistant. Plant it in moist well-drained soil. Cleome hassleriana is usually pest-free but watch out for caterpillars.
