A wonderful gem is hidden in the Dorset countryside near Dorchester in the UK. It is a sculpture park with a nice cafe and also a venue for special events. This 26-acre park was created by Simon Gudgeon in 2007. He was born in 1958, a well-known contemporary British sculptor specializing in large bronze sculptures, who was formally educated in law but became a sculptor at age 40.
He has carefully curated the park with sculptures and landscaping making it an oasis for all visitors. It is a combination of landscaping, art, flowers, and more.
Simon Gudgeon’s art has been publicly installed at Hyde Park, Isis, in 2009, Search of Enlightenment at the banks of Thames, Riverside Walk Garden in London in 2011, and the USA installation of Isis in Wyoming Sculpture Trail at The National Museum of Wildlife Art in 2012. And in 2015, Search of Enlightenment was installed outside the headquarters of Cirque du Soleil in Montreal Canada.
