Primulaceae

Primulaceae is the Primrose Family of plants. It is a family of herbaceous plants. They are perennials or annuals. It is part of the order of Ericales.

The members usually don’t have woody stems. They have simple leaves that are generally attached to the stem by petioles and no stipules. They are mostly alternate sometimes opposite or whorled. They usually form a rosette. They are usually toothed.

Primulaceae members have bisexual flowers and have stamens and carpels. The flowers grow in groups of leafless stalks. The petals are sometimes fused but usually separate. The stamens are attached to the tubes. The fruits are usually capsules containing seeds.
